DMCA Copyright Policy

GIF Downloader (gifdownloadr.com) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. This page explains our policy regarding copyright infringement claims under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Our Role

It’s important to understand what we do and don’t do:

  • We do NOT host, store, or upload any GIF files on our servers
  • We provide a tool that helps users download publicly available content from third-party sources
  • We do not have control over the content available on third-party platforms

Copyright Infringement Claims

If you believe that content downloaded through our service infringes your copyright, we take such claims seriously. However, please note that since we don’t host the content, the most effective way to have infringing content removed is to contact the platform where it’s hosted.

That said, if you want to notify us of copyright infringement, you can send a DMCA notice to gifdownloadr@gmail.com.

DMCA Notice Requirements

To file a proper DMCA notice with us, your notification must include:

  1. Your Contact Information: Your name, address, phone number, and email address
  2. Identification of Copyrighted Work: A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
  3. Identification of Infringing Material: Information reasonably sufficient to locate the material (such as the URL where you found it)
  4. Statement of Good Faith: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner
  5. Statement of Accuracy: A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
  6. Your Signature: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized representative

What We’ll Do

Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will:

  • Review the claim promptly
  • Take appropriate action, which may include blocking access to specific content or features if technically feasible
  • Recommend that you contact the original hosting platform directly

Please understand that our ability to remove content is limited since we don’t host the files. The most effective approach is usually to file a DMCA notice with the platform hosting the content.

Counter-Notice

If you believe your content was wrongly identified as infringing, you may send us a counter-notice that includes:

  1. Your contact information
  2. Identification of the material that was removed
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake
  4. Your consent to jurisdiction of federal court in your district
  5. Your physical or electronic signature

Repeat Infringers

We may terminate access to our service for users who are repeat copyright infringers.

False Claims

Please be aware that submitting false or misleading DMCA notices may result in legal liability. Make sure you have a good faith belief that the content infringes your rights before filing a claim.

Not Legal Advice

This policy is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. If you have questions about copyright law or your rights, please consult with an attorney.
